On a hot August afternoon, this thunderstom rolled into the Canyon from Swisher and Briscoe counties and dumped several inches of rain just east of Amarillo and further northward into the Canadian River. As it passed over Lake Tanglewood, the lake elevation there was actually raised by five inches. The first water crossing at Palo Duro was raised from almost dry to over four feet.
